The picture is devoid of any colour, the dull use of black and white is not meant to depict an artistic piece of photography but rather a gritty almost mug shot of a man smoking a cigarette. The use of the cigarette makes the picture shocking because they are not shown in pictures that will be seen by the public. Arctic Monkeys is in a lower case curled script which does not match the picture and also implies the name is not really important. The name of the CD is not shown on the front but rather on the spine which makes the picture seem like the most important aspect of the cover. /the picture is used well to attract attention and to make sure people remember the cover because it is quite shocking.
